7 years old!

How could it be your 7 today? Seems like just yesterday you were being held in my arms & you were being introduced to the world.

Tonight you have snuggled into pj's under the covers as we watch TV together. You did a good a job decorating your cake with tons of sprinkles. I am glad you liked your gifts.

To friends & family I have attached pictures of his cake & his Lego gift from my Papa. More pics to come as he goes shopping with birthday money from my Mom & has gifts to open from Mikes side of the family.

Happy Birthday Paul!

Soccer

Tonight was Paul's first night of soccer. As I sit at the soccer field watching the 8u boys I am impressed by the skills Chad is running them through.

We had Paul signed up to play and then he didn't want to. Chad said he could try one night and now he is very excited and 6:30 couldn't get here fast enough. This will be good for him. Something that is his own that his brother & sister don't do. For once they get to see what it's like waiting for him :). Morgan just said Paul is so cute out there!

He of course said his Grandpa will be excited that he is playing cause its Grandpa's favorite sport to watch.

Tomorrow my baby will be 7. So hard to believe. I'll share some pictures tomorrow from his special day.

Happy Easter

Dinner is done but not the dishes. Oh to wish them away! We had ham from the pig that Paul raised along with potatoes, corn, biscuits & pumpkin pie for dessert.

The kids loved their Easter baskets and gifts. Bryan got the movie Top Gun while Morgan got a horseshoe necklace that was purple with a cross in the middle. Paul as you can see got a new cowboy hat.

We got 4 loads of cut cedar trees moved to the burn pile. More to go but it's a start.

Hear dishes calling...Happy Easter!

Signs of spring!

A few signs of spring I thought I'd share...my lilacs in bloom, Grandma Littlefield's mini iris, apple trees with blooms starting to fall off & rhubarb.

Little egg

Bryan has been busy picking eggs everyday & was so excited to find this little egg. He wants to poke a hole in it and blow out the egg to keep it.

That is a memory that is high on the list is Grandma Morrison blowing out eggs so I could decorate! How we never broke them is beyond me.

Pigs??

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home and this group of piggies found there way to our home...okay not how the rhyme goes but we did bring 5 15# pigs home for Paul to raise. He is beyond excited to have this new chore and said he is a "Real Pork Producer!"

We found it interesting that Blue Collar (our sheep guard dog) was like this father to the pigs as we moved them from the truck to their new pen. Where ever he went the pigs seemed to follow. They would all freeze in place, then one would make a few noises and they would all start moving again.

Paul has taken a lot of pride into raising them and one I know has friended Paul enough that he can touch his back with no squeels. He said he is getting practice ahead of getting to be a real 4H member that will take pigs to the fair to show!

The best part of it all? He is learning that to raise a good product it takes work, patience and a lot of care and in the end there will be a good food product that will feed many families.
